One of my observations last week helped me to get my head around things and see things much clearer. The advice – “Your pitching things at too high a level.”
It was absolutely right, I was trying to teach everything I knew about a subject (awaiting the ‘very little….’ jibes!) rather than what was required at that level. So no wonder when I was teaching a Level 3 BTEC class I got a few blank faces! It’s level 3, so why am I trying to teach things I just learned on my Degree (Level 6!!).
Cheers Gillian, the rest of the week went a lot smoother and planning has become more straight forward!
